#24 Top Rated Seller Tip-Use Lots of Photos

This is very important if you are selling unique or used items. Use lots of photos. If a photo is truly worth a thousand words, as the old saying goes, just think of all the information a photo gives to the buyer. I have even had buyers point out defects to me from a photo I have posted that I did not notice and so failed to mention it in the listing.
You have a couple of choices when it comes to photos. You can pay eBay to host your photos or use another provider. I have always used another provider but am leaning towards letting eBay host all of my photos. One reason for my considering this is anytime you add another web site into the mix it can slow down or even stall the loading of a page. Another reason is I have always wanted larger photos than were allowed on eBay. Now they are accepting much larger photos.
If you sell media on Amazon.com they also allow you to upload photos of your product. I normally do not do this if there is already a photo in the listing, but I always upload my own photo(s) if there is not a photo already in the listing. When I do this I start my description off with "Photo shown is actual photo of the item I am selling." I am sure this has made a lot of sales for me on amazon.com. Who would you tend to buy from. A seller that took the time to post a photo or a seller that just wrote a description?

I like to see a personal photo taked by the seller even if there IS a stock photo available just because it is more personal. I also like a brief description of the book or item, not just what the ISBN number gives.
Just my thoughts and why I am so slow getting items listed.

Great blog Gary, I enjoy it every day!
