In my last post I said you should accept all payment methods. This included cash, checks, and money orders.
I can see where many of you would be reluctant to accept cash if it was for a large amount. there is now a solution. You can fund a PayPal account with something called MoneyPak. MoneyPak is a service of a company called Green Dot that sells prepaid debit cards in over 40,000 retailers nationwide. I assume you can buy them almost anywhere because I live in a small town of less than 1000 and when I did a search at the PayPal web site I found they were available for purchase in my town
All you have to do to add cash to you PayPal account with MoneyPak is buy one of the cards at a retailer(they sell for $4.95 or less). When you pay for the card the retailer will ask how much you want add to the card. You can add any amount from $20 to $500 onto a MoneyPak at most retailers. You can add up to $1,100 at Walmart.
After you have your card you log in to your PayPal account and click on the Add Funds tab. There you will find three options for adding money to you account. One of them is Green Dot MoneyPak. The funds are added immediately.
There is a limit to how much you can add to your PayPal account. Your starting limit is $250 a year. However, you can add up to $2,000 amonth by providing your name, address, date of birth, and SocialSecurity securely online. Green Dot will collect, verify, and recordthis information on behalf of PayPal, but this information will not beused for a credit check or marketing purposes. I assume it might be used for reporting to the IRS.

After purchasing and using the green dot moneypak card for a small amount, can you top-up the green dot card (within its limits) fo re-use it or must you instead purchase new $4.95 cards each time for single uses only?
