#48 Top Rated Seller Tip-Check your Spelling
It seems that more and more people could care less about correct spelling. I am not even sure it is emphasized in school anymore.
If you are planning on selling something to me on eBay you had better care about your spelling, especially in the title. Mis-spelled words in the title could easily prevent your items from showing up in search results. Most buyers today use search to find items. Very few browse any more. Some buyers intentionally search using miss-spelled words. They know if they can find a certain item with a word miss-spelled in the title the chances are better to get that item for a good price because it will not show up in normal search results.
Okay, you have made certain all of the words in your title are spelled correctly. You can now relax, right? Not if you intend to sell to me. You had better make sure all of your words in your description are spelled correctly. If everything else is the same in two listings and one has a miss-spelled word I will always buy from the listing with all words spelled correctly. I know, I am a little picky about this. It is just that I believe in correct spelling. If you are lax in your spelling how do I know you aren't going to be lax in shipping or packing my item?
Every editor today has spell-check. The eBay online sell your item form even has spell check. There is absolutely no reason to have miss-spelled words in your listing. Correct spelling may not be important to you, but if you want to make a sale to me you had better make it important when you are listing an item to sell online.
